Audio and Music Production School in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Not like any other school, this is Audio Education Updated, Reimagined, and Revitalized. Are You Ready to Take Your Place?

We took that old stale classroom concept, rebuilt and upgraded it by putting your classroom in a professional recording studio. Then we emptied out all the other students and left only YOU and YOUR TEACHER (yay for one-on-one learning!) who happens to be a pro music producer (with killer credits) to train you privately (at your pace, full time, part time, nights or weekends available).

Your Journey starts here. Amplify your Life and go to the next Level.

How it works

Your Virginia Minneapolis, Minnesota MUSIC RECORDING SCHOOL ALTERNATIVE

We hit different and here is why:

While there are several MINNESOTA AUDIO ENGINEERING SCHOOLS from which to choose, there is only one that gets you inside an actual Minneapolis-St. Paul recording studio. You’ll work as an audio student extern as you learn audio engineering, mixing, music production, live audio, electronic music, post-production, and more.

But we won’t make you take prerequisite classes, make you show up to class at 8 a.m. on a Monday morning, nor make you fight for the attention of the teacher. You’ll work one-on-one with a professional audio engineer or music producer inside a real-world recording studio.

Working with an Academic Facilitator, you’ll have a say in what your schedule looks like. After all, the recording industry doesn’t follow a 9-to-5 workday. Our mentors have been known to work late into the night and into the early morning. For artists, inspiration doesn’t hit during tidy eight-hour windows.

You’ll also help set your curriculum. If you’re already proficient in Ableton Live or Pro Tools, there’s really no need to take it from the top, right? Knowing that information at the start will help your mentor modify the syllabus so that it’s suited to your needs. Just try doing that at a traditional four-year university! Recording Connection also costs a fraction of what those “name” schools charge.

Speaking of “years,” Recording Connection programs last either six or nine months. In less than a year, you could already be making money after completing one of our programs. Of course, we can’t guarantee you’ll have a job waiting for you after you’ve finished your course. However, all program graduates get one year of career counseling to help you on your way.

Accelerated timelines. Custom-made class descriptions and schedules. Working elbow to elbow with a professional, learning about the industry from the inside. Yes, there is required reading, quizzes, and exams – this is an educational institution after all. But everything else is tailored around you.

Are you ready to amplify your life?

We will submit your music to labels or get you a job in a studio or as a creator.

You don’t have to go into extreme debt to go to Music Production and Audio Engineering School

We can train you in a real recording studio for far less. Play it smart–get on the inside track, and get connected as you get educated. Our audio recording school is a highly effective and affordable way to start your audio engineering career.

CLOSE TO HOME OR IN YOUR HOME

10 Miles, 10 Blocks, or 10 Seconds away from your future

Serving the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, Recording Connection programs are ideal if you’re living in Minnetonka or near the University, from Shingle Creek to Morris Park, and Bryn-Mahr to Longfellow. With other locations throughout Minnesota, Recording Connection offers plenty of access for you to follow your audio engineering interests.

But we understand “life” happens. Even when there isn’t a worldwide pandemic, family commitments and other obstacles can make a daily commute almost impossible. Recording Connection has been offering remote learning options for students who can’t make it into the studio for whatever reason – including self quarantines and social distancing.

This also means you have the ability to work with music producers throughout the United States. We have more than 250 mentors working with us, meaning you could be living in Minneapolis but working with someone in L.A., New York, or Miami. We want to make your musical journey as accessible as possible.

If you've been looking for a way to drastically increase your skill and knowledge of audio engineering then RRFC should be at the top of your list. RRFC has transformed who i am as an engineer, and how i approach music as a whole.

Yes, we have over 4000 positive reviews. Our students value the impact our programs have on their future. You learn from the best.

Recording Connection does a GREAT job at placing you into REAL studios with REAL engineers and opens the door to allow you to create those connections with your mentor, and continual learning. You truly get out of the program what you put in. Another great aspect of the program are the virtual advisors that can help you with question regarding Pro Tools and other material as well. Much props to Alex Solis for helping me through the program!

After being a musician for a couple of years, I've decided to take my music skills to the next level. I was very fortunate to have landed in Recording Connection, they helped me out since day one with my registration, and any paperwork needed. I was placed at ES Audio Studios in Glendale, CA. My mentor at the studio, Donny B. is very knowledgeable. He helped me through the process since the beginning. He helped me pick a great laptop suitable for Engineers. I had no clue of the existence of any DAW's, and after a few months of spending time at the studio, asking questions, getting a hands on experience, and doing colabs with other students/engineers I now have the privilege to be a professional. A huge thank you, to all who helped answer my questions and helped me grow as a professional engineer.

I had a very good experience with Recording Connection and my mentor Donny Baker from ES Audio Recording Studios. He taught me the things that I need to know about being an engineer/producer and to always be prepared for the gig and to keep the gig as well. I learned a lot from my mentor, other students that are more experienced, my Academic Facilitator Jon, and other engineers that worked there. I thank everybody that has helped me through this journey and will use the advice that has been given to me to improve as an engineer.
