Audio and Music Production School in Montreal, Quebec

Not like any other school, this is Audio Education Updated, Reimagined, and Revitalized. Are You Ready to Take Your Place?

We took that old stale classroom concept, rebuilt and upgraded it by putting your classroom in a professional recording studio. Then we emptied out all the other students and left only YOU and YOUR TEACHER (yay for one-on-one learning!) who happens to be a pro music producer (with killer credits) to train you privately (at your pace, full time, part time, nights or weekends available).

Your Journey starts here. Amplify your Life and go to the next Level.

How it works

Your Montreal Music Production School

We hit different and here is why:

More than 30 years ago, the Recording Connection decided to offer a new way to teach audio engineering and music production. We felt students were spending too much time and too much money without getting a true understanding of how the music industry really works.

Would you rather learn from an instructor in a classroom or from a PRO MUSIC PRODUCER inside a real-world recording studio? Get one on one attention throughout the program or jockey with other students for time with the teacher? Work every day with gear used by professional audio engineers and music producers or wait until it’s your “lab time?”

Learning at university is a standard for many professions – but working in music as one’s profession is anything but standard. Sure, there are still required readings, homework, and exams. This isn’t playtime after all. You need to work hard. With us, you’ll just be working hard inside a MONTREAL RECORDING STUDIO instead of a classroom.

Instead of working with other students, you’ll be working with clients. Smaller local bands, regional acts, or even touring stars known throughout the world work with Recording Connection mentors. Everyone you come into contact with is making a living in the industry. You’ll be learning first hand what working in music looks like.

This is real-life stuff we’re talking about. But we also understand you have a real-life outside of the studio, too. Your Academic Facilitator works with you to set up a schedule that fits with what you have going on. Universities set your schedule. The Recording Connection leaves it up to you.

But you’re still required to work. Showing up late to the classroom may get disapproving looks from your teacher. Showing up late for a session with a client will cost you a job in the real world. Showing up on time, doing the work, and acting responsibly is the only way to take full advantage of our programs.

We feel we offer a better way to learn about audio engineering and music production in Montreal. And we know we offer it for less money and less time than traditional four-year “name” universities. We have hundreds of testimonials and success stories from past graduates. Now is the time to amplify your life.

We will submit your music to labels or get you a job in a studio or as a creator.

CLOSE TO HOME OR IN YOUR HOME

10 Miles, 10 Blocks, or 10 Seconds away from your future

With so many opportunities to learn from and work with the best in Montreal, there’s really no reason to leave for supposedly green pastures. Why move hundreds or even thousands of miles away when Recording Connection offers a world-class education across town?

But even a 15-minute car ride on a consistent basis can be a hardship for some. Or maybe you’d like to learn from a music producer that you really admire. Or maybe a worldwide pandemic has made social distancing and self quarantines a part of day-to-day life.

We’ve been offering remote learning for decades to give access to as many people as possible. As the events of 2020 and beyond have shown us, being able to leave your home for any reason isn’t always possible. But audio engineers and music producers need to be agile, willing to work at any time, often with little notice.

With remote learning, you’ll have the ability to train in a one-on-one manner with your mentor. If you have questions, all you have to do is ask. Want to get their advice on your latest track? Want to get a pro’s advice and have conversations, not lectures? All you need is a fast enough computer, strong internet or wifi, and a willingness to work as hard as you can when in the (virtual) studio.

If you've been looking for a way to drastically increase your skill and knowledge of audio engineering then RRFC should be at the top of your list. RRFC has transformed who i am as an engineer, and how i approach music as a whole.

Yes, we have over 4000 positive reviews. Our students value the impact our programs have on their future. You learn from the best.

Recording Connection does a GREAT job at placing you into REAL studios with REAL engineers and opens the door to allow you to create those connections with your mentor, and continual learning. You truly get out of the program what you put in. Another great aspect of the program are the virtual advisors that can help you with question regarding Pro Tools and other material as well. Much props to Alex Solis for helping me through the program!

After being a musician for a couple of years, I've decided to take my music skills to the next level. I was very fortunate to have landed in Recording Connection, they helped me out since day one with my registration, and any paperwork needed. I was placed at ES Audio Studios in Glendale, CA. My mentor at the studio, Donny B. is very knowledgeable. He helped me through the process since the beginning. He helped me pick a great laptop suitable for Engineers. I had no clue of the existence of any DAW's, and after a few months of spending time at the studio, asking questions, getting a hands on experience, and doing colabs with other students/engineers I now have the privilege to be a professional. A huge thank you, to all who helped answer my questions and helped me grow as a professional engineer.

I had a very good experience with Recording Connection and my mentor Donny Baker from ES Audio Recording Studios. He taught me the things that I need to know about being an engineer/producer and to always be prepared for the gig and to keep the gig as well. I learned a lot from my mentor, other students that are more experienced, my Academic Facilitator Jon, and other engineers that worked there. I thank everybody that has helped me through this journey and will use the advice that has been given to me to improve as an engineer.
