Recording Connection graduate Eugene Kim talks Audio Post-Production

media-right_3Because Recording Connection apprentices are trained in the workplace, oftentimes they end up getting hired at the very same studios where they did their apprenticeships. For Eugene Kim, his apprenticeship at Media Right Productions in New York City has turned into one very rewarding career. After graduating in 2012, not only was Kim hired on at Media Right, he’s since moved up into the lead editor position where he’s doing post-production audio for everything from TV commercials to feature films. Most recently Kim wrapped post-production sound for a national Best Buy spot which is pretty sweet indeed!

For other graduates interested in specializing in post-production, Eugene Kim suggests checking out the Manhattan Edit Workshop. Through this workshop, Eugene has met new clients and like-minded artists as well as getting further Avid certification for his specialty.

Eugene speaks highly of the Recording Connection’s apprenticeship approach. “I think for a trade or craft, apprenticeships are the way to go,” he says. “Through the program, I really figured out exactly what I wanted to do.”
