Well the rumor, dear folks, is completely true.

So, what is Jam In The Van?

The Jam Van is exactly what it sounds like it is. It’s a solar powered van that drives across the country and showcases up and coming musicians. They enter the van…and jam. The sets are then recorded and put online. The van is fully equipped to record and produce music. Due to that, its fundamentally changing the way we discover music. The artists featured on JITV are recorded in extremely high quality, so their performances are captured and preserved for the future.

The Jam Van has seen performances from Blues Traveler, Misterwives, Elle King, Black Angels, Portugal, The Man, Mike Love, Wyclef Jean, Eagles of Death Metal, Robert Delong, and Gary Clark Jr.

Most recently, a number of Recording Connection students got to jump on the van and assist recording Ben Harper himself. The folks behind JITV are making local music accessible to everyone and giving artists the chance to get seen and heard by thousands of Jam In The Van followers. These passionate music pros are all about nuturing the creative impulse, helping artists, and doing things differently so is it any wonder we’re totally in love?!

And because Jam In The Van produces great webisodes of the jams on their YouTube channel, Film Connection students have also gotten into the mix, assisting on the visual end!
