Meet Tizone Street, Music Producer and Recording Connection Mentor
Antonio “Tizone” Street has over 20 yrs in the music industry. Tizone started out as a DJ touring with the Nappy Heads, which received their deal on “The Oprah Winfrey Show”. He then started to connect with major industry artists: the late great Notorious B.I.G., Craig Mack, D.O.C., Sean Diddy Combs, Tupac, Dr. Dre and many others. After the tour, Tizone began to write songs for, produce and develop his younger brother, Lil Bud and shop the demo. Tizone went to Atlanta on a weekend to shop his demo with $50 from his grandfather. He returned to Chicago with the $50 and offers came from Teddy Riley and Keith Sweat. Deciding to sign with Keith Sweat under Elektra Records, Sylvia Rhone heard a verse Tizone featured on off Lil Bud’s album; she decided that they needed to be a group. Later the group moved to Island Records, where they received their first gold album for “Funky Sounds” off the “Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood” Soundtrack which Tizone wrote and produced. That soundtrack is Certified Gold.
Tizone also featured on Keith Sweat’s “Freak With Me” on Keith Sweat’s self-titled album as well as co-wrote and produced the song “Chocolate Girl”. Keith Sweat album is now Certified 4X Mulit-Platinum. He has mixing credit for Mary J Blige ft R Kelly “It’s On” off the “Share My World” album which Certified 3X Platinum. He has worked directly with Legendary Mixing Engineer Peter Mokran, R. Kelly, Cheri Dennis (Bad Boy Records), L.T. Hutton, and many others on Lil Bud & Tizone album “Ghetto Wayz”. Their first single off the album, “Gonna Let U Know” feat. Keith Sweat competed with Michael Jackson and the Nortorious B.I.G for positions on the top three spots on the Billboard charts. Lil Bud and Tizone appeared on Soul Train, Teen Summit and toured with major industry artists. Tizone has also worked with Angela Winbush, Ki-Ci & Jo-Jo, the remix of “Suicide” by Twista, remix of BrownStone “I Can’t Tell U Why”, featured on Ol Skool “Set Your Free”, David Josias, Ron Isley, Kelly Price, Strings, Avant, Nneka, Mona Lisa and many more.
Tizone focused on production and he began to master his skills of engineering, mixing and mastering, and programming. While working with many of the industry greats, Tizone also helped many independent artists through his label Basstone Entertainment and now Radar Recordz. In addition to Radar Recordz, Tizone is owner of Radar Production Company and online production company Beats by Tizone. His works exemplify his gifts and talent of an extraordinary artist/producer, songwriter, DJ, director, editor, videographer and photographer.
