Hans Zimmer

When you’re talking about music industry icons, you don’t get much more iconic than film composer Hans Zimmer.

From his early days in pop music (he appears with The Buggles in “Video Killed the Radio Star,” the first music video ever aired on MTV), Hans has written original scores for such films as Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008), Gladiator (2000), The Da Vinci Code (2005) Sherlock Holmes (2009) and over 100 others, going on to win four Grammys and an Oscar. Hans is also known throughout the music industry as a collaborator and mentor for other musicians, having been instrumental in launching the careers of the likes of Klaus Badelt, Mark Mancina and Steven Price (who recently won an Oscar for his original score for the 2013 film Gravity).

Hans Zimmer is such a firm believer in mentoring within the music industry because that’s basically how he got his start, having been mentored himself by acclaimed composer Stanley Myers. It stands to reason, then, that Hans endorses the Recording Connection’s mentor-extern learning approach. He understands, as we do, that the best way to launch a career in this industry is through one-on-one training and industry connections.
