BRYAN RAY, RECORDING CONNECTION STUDENT OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY, 2012

February 1, 2012. AUSTIN, TX. The Recording Connection announces Bryan Ray in Austin, Texas, as their student of the month for January, 2012. Bryan chose Recording Connection to further his dream of being an independent record producer, songwriter, and mixer.

As Bryan explained, “I was always looking out for local bands and artists I wanted to produce, artists who had a great sound that I believed I could help hone and help them execute to their fullest potential. Recording Connection seemed like the best way for me to get in a studio and learn hands on and be honest about my goals and aspirations. I’ve always felt as long as you work hard and position yourself to be in the right places, good things will happen, so I wanted to get into a studio and start learning and start being in the right place.”

While Bryan is finding everything he is learning to be of value, it is the wealth of experience he is exposed to that complement his digital audio background that he he finds most rewarding. “The best part of Recording Connection by far has been the constant learning experience and the fact that because I’m always recording my own music and mixing for other people in my home studio (all digital), I’m able to bounce ideas off my mentor and get amazing notes on what I’m doing, what’s working, what’s not, and how to get better.”

Even though his career is in the embryonic state, Bryan is also paying attention to self-promotion through social media. “Social media is working for me. Granted, I do not have a whole lot of product at the moment as I am currently working on my first EP, but in terms of the “networking” element it is absolutely working. I have over 400 Twitter followers and I actively engage with the majority of them. Some of them are some pretty amazing people that I would have never had access to were it not for Twitter. I also use a Facebook music page to promote my own music and other projects I’m working on. I think it’s important to have as solid a social media platform as you can so that when you do something that really hits, people already have an established place to find you and connect with you.”

Bryan Ray exemplifies what the Recording Connection looks for from its students: hard work, great effort, passion, responsibility and talent are what it takes to be successful. That, and music business connections which are often the reward for long hours spent in the recording studio. For these reasons, Bryan Ray is the Recording Connection student of the month for January, 2012.
