Live DJ & Music Production
Course 3: RekordBox

As a DJ, your job is to create a seamless mix of audio for your audience to dance to. And for that, you need reliable DJ software that can help you with mixing multiple sources of audio. RekordBox is one such software that you can rely on to create fantastic music mixes. In this course, we’ll take you through the process of importing songs, configuring the software, and preparing the songs for live performances. We’ll also show you how to stay organized by managing all the music you’re working with.

Whether you’re new to DJing or you’ve been doing it for years, configuring your Rekordbox settings is a crucial step to ensure a smooth and high-quality performance. Taking the time to set up your software correctly can make a big difference in sound quality, workflow, and overall experience. And with Rekordbox’s waveform display, beat grid adjustment, and track preparation, importing songs into the application is a key aspect of taking advantage of all it has to offer.

Your goal is to create an unforgettable experience for your audience. To achieve that, proper preparation in Rekordbox is crucial. Taking the time to analyze tracks, set cues and loops, and organize your library in advance can help you deliver a performance that is both creative and technically sound. By doing so, you can ensure that your music flows seamlessly, keeping your audience engaged and energized.

With Rekordbox, you have all the tools you need to take your DJ skills to the next level. Your assignments for this course include taking 10 songs and adding metadata for each track and creating hot cues, importing 50 songs (from legal sources of course), and practicing DJing for at least one hour.
