Audio and Music Production School in Cincinnati, Ohio

Not like any other school, this is Audio Education Updated, Reimagined, and Revitalized. Are You Ready to Take Your Place?

We took that old stale classroom concept, rebuilt and upgraded it by putting your classroom in a professional recording studio. Then we emptied out all the other students and left only YOU and YOUR TEACHER (yay for one-on-one learning!) who happens to be a pro music producer (with killer credits) to train you privately (at your pace, full time, part time, nights or weekends available).

We hit different and here is why:

We’ve all been in the classroom setting, right? Waking up way too early, taking classes you don’t really want, and trying to get your questions answered along with several other students. For traditional careers—like accounting—you need those hours in the classroom. The music business, however, is anything but traditional.

Recording Connection was created to give those interested in making a career in the music industry what we feel is a REAL education in the audio engineering and music production field. How real? We place you inside a PROFESSIONAL RECORDING STUDIO, give you one-on-one learning with a PRO MUSIC PRODUCER, and the chance to work with real artists.

Our mentors are making the music you’re probably listening to today, working on the most up-to-date consoles, digital audio workstations, and other gear to remain on the cutting edge of the industry. You’ll be learning from the inside of the music business, not just reading about it.

Of course, we are an educational institution. So there are still assignments, tests, and exams. As far as we’re concerned, that’s where the similarities end. Instead of making you take classes you couldn’t care less about at 8 a.m., you’ll work with an Academic Facilitator to create your curriculum and your schedule.

It gets better. Our programs are completed in six or nine months and our tuition is one-tenth what “name” four-year universities can charge. Why go into six-figures of debt if you don’t have to? Why turn your life upside down for the next four years?

Why not start gaining the experience you need today? In less than a year, you could be starting your professional career. After a year at a university, you’ll be a sophomore. What makes more sense? The decision is yours, but we happen to think it’s a pretty easy decision

You don’t have to go into extreme debt to go to Music Production and Audio Engineering School

10 Miles, 10 Blocks, or 10 Seconds away from your future

For more than 30 years, we’ve been making our Audio Engineer and Music Production Programs accessible to people throughout the United States. We have more than 250 locations, including Cincinnati. Even if you live in Avondale, The Banks, or Covington, you’re never too far away from a Recording Connection mentored externship location.

However, we understand that sometimes life can get in the way of even the shortest commutes. As the events of 2020 proved, even the shortest commutes can be cut short by self quarantines and personal distancing. But we have the infrastructure in place to make sure you’ll always have access to your mentor and to learning in a direct, one-on-one manner.

For decades we’ve been offering remote learning, allowing externs to “virtually” be in the studio no matter what life throws their way. Live 50 miles outside the city limits? Why waste a couple of hours of drive time when you could be getting the same education from your home? All you really need is a strong enough computer and reliable internet. Do we have a mentor in Los Angeles, New York, or Nashville whom you really want to learn from? We can make it happen thanks to today’s technology.

We’ve made the road to jump-starting your career that much shorter – literally. You don’t need to move across the country to work with an audio engineer or music producer you really admire. With our remote learning, we’ll bring them to you!

Featured Cincinnati Music Production Mentors on Location or Remote

The Recording Connection offers something no “name” 4-year university or audio engineering and music production trade school can. From day one, you’ll be placed in a professional recording studio and receive one-on-one mentoring from award-winning producers and engineers.

With more than 200 locations throughout 48 states, you won’t have to travel thousands of miles for this immersive experience. You learn what it takes to make it in the music business from the inside alongside industry professionals. This includes recording, mixing and mastering, hardware and software, live sound design, and even business skills.

Work with the Stars or Amplify Your Sound

THE CINCINNATI RECORDING CONNECTION is designed to give you a foundation in audio engineering and music production, hip hop and beat-making, and mixing and mastering. As an artist, you can take what you’ve learned to improve your music, creating professional tracks as you pursue your career in front of a mic.

If you’re more interested in the other side of the glass, we offer a chance to meet future employers, co-workers, and clients. Every day you’re in the studio, it’s a new chance to impress your mentor, artists coming in for a session, and other audio engineers and music producers.

These weekly, sometimes daily, opportunities just aren’t available in a classroom setting. Remember, you’ll be learning about the industry from inside a PROFESSIONAL CINCINNATI RECORDING STUDIO. This isn’t a hobby for them – this is real life.

And it could be your life. But it all depends on how much work you put into it. Showing up late, playing on your phone, or rolling your eyes every time your mentor asks you to do something just isn’t going to get it done. Our most successful graduates find work in their mentor’s studio, other studios, and even go on to open their own studios. One graduate, Morning Estrada, even toured Europe as Aminé’s audio engineer. Another grad, Ramy Morales, has made beats for songs which have gone platinum five times over (and counting).

But think they were checking Instagram while they were supposed to be learning in the studio? Think again! Don’t get us wrong – social media is a powerful way to build your brand. But there’s a better time to post updates than in the middle of a session with a client who could be paying you in the very near future.

We give you the opportunities to make the connections so vital in the music industry. But it’s up to you to make the most of those opportunities.
