Audio and Music Production School in Indianapolis, Indiana

Not like any other school, this is Audio Education Updated, Reimagined, and Revitalized. Are You Ready to Take Your Place?

We took that old stale classroom concept, rebuilt and upgraded it by putting your classroom in a professional recording studio. Then we emptied out all the other students and left only YOU and YOUR TEACHER (yay for one-on-one learning!) who happens to be a pro music producer (with killer credits) to train you privately (at your pace, full time, part time, nights or weekends available).

Your Indianapolis, Indiana MUSIC RECORDING SCHOOL ALTERNATIVE

We hit different and here is why:

For more than three decades, we’ve been offering a different way to learn how to become an audio engineer or music producer. Recording Connection doesn’t believe you need to attend a university for four years, taking prerequisites you don’t want (or need), spending cash on books you’ll never use again, or attend class at predetermined times to pursue a career in the music industry.

We do believe learning about the industry from the inside gives our students a leg up on the competition. By placing you with a PRO MUSIC PRODUCER in a real-world INDIANAPOLIS AUDIO RECORDING STUDIO on day one, you’ll work with a mentor that’s making money in the industry right now.

You’ll learn how to set up a studio for different acts, how to move around an actual working studio, and how to build relationships with a wide variety of personalities. Our mentors work with local acts, regional bands, and touring superstars – and you could be along for the ride. Refining your brand, building a portfolio, and getting the experience you’ll need to find work once the program is over.

You’re going to have to put in the work, though. Recording Connection will put you in the middle of the action, but it’s up to you to make the most of it. You tell us what you want to learn, you’ll help set the schedule, and you’ll get answers to your questions. But it’s up to you to ask those questions, to put in the work, and to learn everything you can during your time with us.

Our six and nine-month programs will give you a solid foundation at a fraction of the cost of those four-year schools. How you use this time will go a long way to determining how far you go in the industry.

CLOSE TO HOME OR IN YOUR HOME

10 Miles, 10 Blocks, or 10 Seconds away from your future

Although analog recording is still a viable method of producing music, digital recording has been the dominant way to capture the songs the whole world sings. The proliferation of digital audio workstations, faster internet speeds, and improved video conferencing means that bandmates can still work together even if they’re hundreds of miles apart.

Recording Connection proves the same can be said about learning audio engineering and music production. While there’s nothing like learning in an actual studio, 2020 showed the industry that in-person work isn’t always possible. Fortunately, we’ve been offering remote learning for years, perfecting the “virtual” mentor-student relationship.

This means you’ll still get a world-class education from the friendly confines of your home – whether there’s a pandemic or not. This also allows our students to choose who they want to work with. Our Indianapolis mentors are very experienced, their studios are filled with the latest gear, and they work with international stars.

But if you’re interested in learning with a particular Recording Connection mentor in L.A., Miami, or New York, we can make that happen. All you need is a powerful enough computer, reliably fast internet, and the determination to learn as much as you can.

WHAT WE OFFER

Work with the Stars or Amplify Your Sound

The music industry can be a very tight-knit community – which is great if you’re already on the inside. But getting your foot in the door can be a frustrating experience. And that may be the most important aspect of enrolling in Recording Connection programs: We provide those opportunities to impress.

Our mentors have won Grammys, Oscars, and Tonys. They produce platinum records and many even work with the artists you listen to every day. When trying to break into the biz, these are the people you need an audience with. Recording Connection gives you a front row seat.

The hands-on nature of our programs means you’ll be able to show your mentor what you’ve learned on a daily basis. Prove to clients you have what it takes. Create a buzz around you that other audio engineers and music producers take note of.

If you prove you can do the work, and hold yourself professionally during these sessions, you’ll never know who will come calling for your services. Our most successful students have been hired by other studios to work in-house, while others have been hired to travel with touring acts.

We do it in months, too, not several years. College and university programs offer a pat on the back and a piece of paper and oftentimes zero experience in an actual recording studio and zero experience learning on real projects with full time professional engineers or producers. What do you think will impress the pros and potential clients more: A degree from a university or a portfolio of work and experience working in a real-world studio? What makes more sense to you?

INDIANAPOLIS MENTOR INFORMATION

Our Indianapolis mentors have worked with the biggest names in the industry. Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Migos, and DMX all have worked with our Indianapolis mentors. In addition to artists, our mentors have worked with ABC, MTV, Coca-Cola, Tommy Boy Records, and the History Channel.

Featuring several studios outfitted with the latest gear (Neve VR consoles, Pro Tools digital audio workstations, and an extensive list of microphones, pre-amps, and plug-ins), our mentors can work with any genre at any time. They also have space for live music, helping students to understand the differences between recording a live show as well as working in the studio.

They also have relationships with professional live DJs they can call on for additional support. The Indianapolis Recording Connection mentors give our students the opportunities to learn what they want in a space that makes the most sense. Isolation rooms, studios that can handle single artists as well as large ensembles, and the ability to record digitally or analog.
