Audio and Music Production School in Salt Lake City, Utah

Not like any other school, this is Audio Education Updated, Reimagined, and Revitalized. Are You Ready to Take Your Place?

We took that old stale classroom concept, rebuilt and upgraded it by putting your classroom in a professional recording studio. Then we emptied out all the other students and left only YOU and YOUR TEACHER (yay for one-on-one learning!) who happens to be a pro music producer (with killer credits) to train you privately (at your pace, full time, part time, nights or weekends available).

Your Salt Lake City, Utah MUSIC RECORDING SCHOOL ALTERNATIVE

We hit different and here is why:

Tell us if this sounds familiar when it comes to your educational experience. Getting up way too early to take classes that you don’t even want (but are “required” to take). Unable to get your questions answered because all of the other students had their hands up first. Getting a diploma, but still not having any real experience.

It sounded familiar to Recording Connection, so we decided to offer people like you an alternative way to get into audio engineering and music production. Instead of a classroom, we place you in a professional SALT LAKE CITY RECORDING STUDIO. Instead of sharing a teacher with multiple other students, you get one-on-one time SALT LAKE CITY MUSIC PRODUCER.

And when you’re done with a RECORDING CONNECTION AUDIO ENGINEERING AND MUSIC PRODUCTION PROGRAM, you’ll have built your brand, added to your portfolio, and probably even filled your phone with contacts. Plus you’ll have experience working with the latest gear in a real-world setting.

We don’t stop there. Our programs last six to nine months and cost a tenth of what the tuition and books cost at many four-year universities. And we’re located in Salt Lake City to boot! Why move hundreds of miles away, spend four years taking classes you don’t want, and take on six figures of college loan debt?

CLOSE TO HOME OR IN YOUR HOME

10 Miles, 10 Blocks, or 10 Seconds away from your future

With more than 250 locations throughout the U.S. (including Salt Lake City), you can enroll in our Audio Engineering and Music Production Programs almost anywhere in the country. But what happens when you’re just out of range for daily trips to the studio? And, as 2020 showed us, circumstances beyond your control are hard to plan for.

No problem! While other educational institutions were spending months trying to figure out how to reach their students, Recording Connection already had years of experience with remote learning. We developed these “virtual studios” to give access to anyone who wanted to learn no matter where they lived.

Interested in learning from one of our mentors in particular, but they’re located in Chicago, Seattle, or Miami? We can make it happen—if they’re available of course. We just want to make sure you understand something: If you want to enroll with Recording Connection, and you have the right kind of work ethic, we’ll make sure it happens no matter where you live.

Featured Salt Lake City Music Production Mentors on Location or Remote

The Recording Connection offers something no “name” 4-year university or audio engineering and music production trade school can. From day one, you’ll be placed in a professional recording studio and receive one-on-one mentoring from award-winning producers and engineers.

With more than 200 locations throughout 48 states, you won’t have to travel thousands of miles for this immersive experience. You learn what it takes to make it in the music business from the inside alongside industry professionals. This includes recording, mixing and mastering, hardware and software, live sound design, and even business skills.

WHAT WE OFFER

Work with the Stars or Amplify Your Unique Sound

There are several advantages of entering Recording Connection programs. Personalized schedules with your Academic Facilitator (like your 2nd mentor, they operate out of our HQ, in Los Angeles), one-on-one time with your mentor, and working on the digital and analog gear the professionals use, inside a professional Salt Lake City recording studio. If you’re remote, you’ll be on your DAW, training directly with your mentor and also your Academic Facilitator, and making music of your own, if you so choose.

All of that is designed to give you a solid foundation and deeper understanding of the creative, the workhouse, and the business aspects of how the recording industry operates. But this is a creative industry, so who you know (& who knows you) is just as valuable as what you know. Recording Connection programs offer just that: The opportunity to make those connections.

We give you the opportunities to prove yourself to potential employers and clients. Did you know that many of our students go on to work for their mentors or at the studios they learned? In one case, a client hired a student for a six-month touring gig after working with him during a session – and that student hadn’t even finished the program yet!

Other students have gotten work with other music producers and at various recording studios, based on strong word of mouth from their mentor or clients who’ve interacted with them. Many of our graduates started their own studios shortly after graduating, taking what they learned during their time to secure their own clients.

These are opportunities just not available in a university setting. You may get the occasional guest speaker, but at conventional schools they’re just not set up to work with professional musicians who are working on their next track, next album, next release. With Recording Connection, you’ll ONLY work with people already in the industry.

What could be better than that?

SALT LAKE CITY MENTOR INFORMATION

Whether they’re using a one-of-a-kind Allen & Heath 64 input console with Burr-Brown mic preamp upgrades to produce a smooth, warm sound or the latest Pro Tools digital audio workstation software for cutting-edge EDM, Salt Lake City mentors work with the best gear in the industry.

With vintage and modern processors, enough studio space to create different acoustics, and all of the mics and plug-ins your sessions could ever need, this kind of learning isn’t like going to school. This is important because some of our mentors have worked with every genre under the sun. Everclear and Megadeth and Paula Cole and Faith Hill. From local punk sensations Aftermath of a Trainwreck, to ska aficionados 2 ½ White Guys, to reggae-inspired popsters The Samples.

Being able to work with such a wide range of sounds is important. Many audio engineers or music producers don’t pick and choose who they work with, not at first: a client is a client. By working with someone that can switch gears at a moment’s notice, you get a truer understanding of what the craft, the art, and the business of music is all about.
