COACHELLA 2013 BANDS TO WATCH FOR: LITTLE GREEN CARS

As Coachella 2013 approaches (April 12-14 and April 19-21 in Indio, California), we thought it would be a good idea to profile some of the acts slated to perform on one or both weekends—and not just the bands everyone knows, but some of the up-and-comers that you might miss otherwise. Little Green Cars definitely makes that list.

A couple of important things strike me about this Dublin-based folk/rock act. First: they keep it fairly simple—bass, drums, guitars and vocals, along with uncomplicated chord progressions—yet they manage to make the music stick with you. Second: they are one of the few indie rock bands out there with a strong emphasis on vocals and harmonies, which gives them a unique sound.

And third—well, they’re from Dublin. Like U2. That’s just cool.

Oh, and here’s something else. The band haven’t even released their debut album yet (it comes out in March), yet they have gotten enough buzz that they have been tapped to play Coachella. That alone should make it worth seeing what the fuss is about.

Little Green Cars are currently slated to play Sunday on both weekends of Coachella (April 14 and 21). Keep a sharp eye out for them if you’re planning to be there. If you can’t make it out, bear in mind that their album, Absolute Zero, was produced by Markus Dravs (Mumford & Sons, Coldplay)—so we have a lot to look forward to from Little Green Cars in the upcoming year.

In the meantime…the video below should give you a foretaste of what to expect.
